Antilock Brake System Control Module, Coding

If the ABS, ABS/EDL system is also equipped with ASR, theABS Control Module (w/EDL) -J104- must be coded for either manual transmission or automatic transmission.

NOTE:

Coding can only be carried out if a dealership number has been stored in the scan tool:VAG1551 VAG 1551 operating instructions.

A 3-digit code must always be displayed during the control module identification.

If the code that is displayed does not match the vehicle, or if the control module has been replaced, the control module must be coded as follows:

Transmission	Coding	Specified state
Manual	000	No voltage atABS Control Module (w/EDL) -J104- terminal 45 (terminal 45 not assigned)
Automatic	001	Voltage present atABS Control Module (w/EDL) -J104- terminal 45 (connected to transmission control module -J217-)

-- Connect scan tool:VAG1551 with adapter cable :VAG1551 /3 SCAN TOOL VAG 1551, CONNECTING AND SELECTING FUNCTIONS .

-- Select "Rapid data transfer" operating mode and insert "Brake electronics" address word 03.
