Shift Mechanism, Removing And Installing: Removing
-- Remove The Selector Lever Handle. Refer To SELECTOR LEVER HANDLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove The Center Console. Refer To CENTER CONSOLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Disconnect The Connector -1- From The Selector Mechanism To The Vehicle Wiring Harness. (Different Installation Positions)
-- Remove The Air Filter Housing. Refer To AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING (DSNA) , or AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING (DSPA) .
-- Pry The Selector Lever Cable -1- Off The Selector Shaft Lever -2- Using For Example An Open End Wrench.
Tip:
Use Pliers To Remove The Lock Washer -3- From The Cable Bracket -4-. Do Not Use A Sharp-Edged Lever. Otherwise The Selector Lever Cable Could Get Damaged. The Bolts -5- Are Not Removed.
-- Disengage The Selector Lever Cable -1- From The Clip -Arrow- On The Bracket -2-.
-- Remove The Driveshaft. Refer To DRIVESHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove The Heat Shield For The Tunnel. Refer To COMPONENT LOCATION OVERVIEW - HEAT SHIELD .
-- Remove The Nuts -Arrows- In The Vehicle Interior.
-- Remove The Bracket -A-, If Equipped.
- A Second Technician Is Required Under The Vehicle To Remove The Selector Mechanism.
-- Remove The Selector Mechanism -B- With The Selector Lever Cable And Selector Housing Downward.
