Low Pressure Fuel Supply

The integrated vane-type transfer pump delivers a constant amount of fuel from the fuel tank into the pump chamber. Pressure in this chamber is regulated by a pressure control valve. Pressure rises with increasing engine speed.

A certain amount of fuel (spill flow rate) is returned to the fuel tank by a spill orifice plug in the governor cover for cooling and automatic bleeding of the distributor injection pump. See Figure.
