Hydraulic System Bleeding

NOTE: Power steering system must be bled whenever system is opened or oil level falls so low that pump picks up air.
  1. Fill reservoir up to one inch (25.4 mm) below edge of reservoir. Turn engine over using starter, and add more fluid. Start engine, and let it idle. Turn steering wheel from lock to lock, apply brake pedal 5 times, wait 30 seconds and operate brake pedal 5 more times.
  2. Turn engine off. Operate brake pedal until oil level in reservoir no longer rises or when more force is required to press brake pedal. After releasing brake pedal, fluid level should be 13/32" (10 mm) below edge of reservoir.
