INFORMATION

BMW owners moving from Canada to the USA, or USA to Canada, request that their instrument cluster be converted from Kilometers to Miles, or from Miles to Kilometers.

PROCEDURE

Install replacement parts as follows:

Note that for E36, the coding plug must be replaced.

Program / Code the installed part to complete the installation.
For vehicles coded via "Coding/Programming" in DISPlus/GT1:
- Select "Coding/Programming"
- Select "ZCS/FA coding"
- Select the vehicle series
- Select "Conversions" / "USA-Canada" and follow the on-screen instructions.
For vehicles coded via CIP:
- Select "Coding/Programming"
- Select "CIP" / "Load Software"
- Select "USA-Canada" in Retrofit sub-menu, and follow the on-screen instructions. For more information on Retrofits using CIP, refer to SI B09 05 01 .
