51 32... Adjusting vertical dimension of front left or right side window

Special tools required: 

• 51 0 342
• 51 0 400

Prerequisite: 

• Vehicle must be standing on its wheels on a level floor
• FRONT DOOR correctly adjusted to fit.

Necessary preliminary tasks 

• Remove OUTER WINDOW CAVITY WEATHER STRIP .
• Remove front door trim panel. See 51 41 000 Removing and installing (replacing) front left or right door trim panel .

Vertical dimension 

Raise the door window.

Close front door.

Measure dimension (A) with special tool 51 0 342 between flange (1) and door window glass (2).

A 10.7 mm ± 0.8 mm

Inside of flange edge (1) to door window glass (2) in area of B-pillar.

Adjusting vertical dimension 

• Connect special tool 51 0 400 to adjustment pin (1) and release nut (2).

  Tightening torque 51 33 6AZ .

• Turn screw (1) to adjust dimension and lock with nut (2). Check dimension.

  If necessary, repeat operations.
