Power Recliner Assembly: Removal

  1. Remove seat. See FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY  .
  2. Disconnect the recliner motor electrical connector (182).
  3. Remove seatback cover. See POWER RECLINE SEAT COVERS & CUSHIONS  .
  4. Remove the bolts (183). Remove the recliner assembly bolts (159).See Fig 1 . Remove the power recliner assembly (170).
  5. Remove the bolt (164) attaching bracket (165) to the gearbox (166), being careful to remember how bracket (165) attached to gearbox (166). See Fig 1 .
  6. Disconnect the cable housing (167) from the gearbox (166), being careful not to crimp cable housing (167). See Fig 1 .
  7. Remove the recliner motor (168) from bracket (165), if replacing recliner motor (168). See Fig 1 .
  8. Remove the bolts (169). See Fig 1 .
