Test E - Valve Control

  1. Turn ignition off. Ensure PMV connector (C1) is connected. Disconnect EBCM/EBTCM electrical connector. Connect Pinout Box (J-38716). Disconnect ABS main relay.
  2. Measure resistance between pinout box pins No. 3 and 20 (left front inlet solenoid valve). See Figure . Resistance should be less than 10 ohms. Measure resistance between pinout box pins No. 3 and 38 (right front inlet solenoid valve). Resistance should be less than 10 ohms.
  3. Measure resistance between pinout box pins No. 3 and 54 (left rear inlet solenoid valve). Resistance should be less than 10 ohms. Measure resistance between pinout box pins No. 3 and 55 (right rear inlet solenoid valve). Resistance should be less than 10 ohms.
  4. Measure resistance between pinout box pins No. 3 and 2 (left front outlet solenoid valve). Resistance should be less than 10 ohms. Measure resistance between pinout box pins No. 3 and 21 (right front outlet solenoid valve). Resistance should be less than 10 ohms.
  5. Measure resistance between pinout box pins No. 3 and 36 (left rear outlet solenoid valve). Resistance should be less than 10 ohms. Measure resistance between pinout box pins No. 3 and 18 (right rear outlet solenoid valve). Resistance should be less than 10 ohms.
  6. If any reading is not as specified, check for open in suspect solenoid valve wiring or proper PMV assembly connector terminal contact. Repair as necessary.
  7. Measure resistance between ground and pinout box pin No. 20 (left front inlet solenoid valve). Resistance should be infinite. Measure resistance between ground and pinout box pin No. 38 (right front inlet solenoid valve). Resistance should be infinite.
  8. Measure resistance between ground and pinout box pin No. 54 (left rear inlet solenoid valve). Resistance should be infinite. Measure resistance between ground and pinout box pin No. 55 (right rear inlet solenoid valve). Resistance should be infinite.
  9. Measure resistance between ground and pinout box pin No. 2 (left front outlet solenoid valve). Resistance should be infinite. Measure resistance between ground and pinout box pin No. 21 (right front outlet solenoid valve). Resistance should be infinite.
  10. Measure resistance between ground and pinout box pin No. 36 (left rear outlet solenoid valve). Resistance should be infinite. Measure resistance between ground and pinout box pin No. 18 (right rear outlet solenoid valve). Resistance should be infinite.
  11. If all readings are within specifications, go to TEST BB. If any reading is not as specified, check and repair short to ground in appropriate solenoid valve wiring. If wiring is okay, check EBCM/EBTCM connector terminals for poor contact. If EBCM/EBTCM connector terminals are okay, replace EBCM/EBTCM. After all repairs are complete, clear codes, and repeat ABS/TCS functional check. See Figure .
