Test Ee Traction Off Indicator Test

  1. Perform ABS/TCS functional check before proceeding. See Figure . Turn ignition off. Disconnect EBTCM connector. Connect Pinout Box (J-38716). Measure resistance between ground and pinout box pin No. 1. See Figure . Resistance should be less than 2 ohms. If resistance is as specified, go to next step. If resistance is not as specified, repair open in circuit No. 251 (Black/White wire).
  2. Measure resistance between pinout box pins No. 1 and 25. Resistance should be more than 5 ohms. If resistance is as specified, go to next step. If resistance is not as specified, check for short to ground in circuit No. 1571 (Brown/White wire). If Brown/White wire is okay, replace traction control switch.
  3. Measure resistance between pinout box pins No. 1 and 44. Resistance should be more than 5 ohms. If resistance is not as specified, check for short to ground in circuit No. 1572 (Purple/White wire). If Purple/White wire is okay, replace EBTCM. After all repairs are complete, clear codes, and repeat ABS/TCS functional check. See Figure .
