SYMPTOM DIAGNOSIS

Symptom (1) Test
Cannot Enter Diagnostic Mode P
ANTI-LOCK Indicator Does Not Light R
ANTI-LOCK Indicator Always On/No Codes (2) Q
Brake Pedal Rises/Drops Excessively During ABS Stop K
Brake Pedal Vibrates At Low Speed (10 MPH) Braking I
BRAKE Indicator Always On (3)(4) T
BRAKE Indicator Inoperative (3)(4)
BRAKE Indicator Inoperative With Parking Brake Applied V
BRAKE Indicator Inoperative W/ Low Brake Fluid Or During Bulb Test U
Brake Pedal Spongy (3)
BRAKE Indicator On/Chime Off W/ Parking Brake Applied (5)
Only TRACTION OFF Indicator Inoperative (6) DD
Only TRACTION OFF Indicator Always On/No Codes (7) EE
(1) See DIAGNOSTIC CODE TESTS.
(2) Check PMV reservoir brake fluid level.
(3) Check brake system.
(4) Replace faulty instrument cluster or information center panel.
(5) Check circuit No. 33 to MFC module for open.
(6) Check TRACTION OFF indicator bulb.
(7) Wait 20 seconds. If light goes out, system okay. If light still on, continue diagnosis.
