Power Window System: Operation

Each passenger door power window can be operated, either from a switch in Driver Door Switch Assembly (DDSA), or from a switch mounted on associated door. Driver's power window can only be operated from the driver door window switch on DDSA. When Driver Door Module (DDM) receives a window switch request from DDSA, DDM checks Class-2 serial data link to see if status information (ignition switch position) is correct. If status information is correct, DDM supplies either power or ground to the associated window motor. If the request from DDSA is for one of the passenger windows, DDM sends a command through power door serial data circuit to the Passenger Door Module (PDM), Left Rear Door Module (LRDM) or Right Rear Door Module (RRDM) which will control the associated window. The PDM, LRDM, or RRDM which controls the associated window, then supplies power and ground to that window motor to move the window as requested. When one of the local window switches mounted on one of the passenger doors is operated, the associated door module examines the request and checks to see if there are any messages from DDM prohibiting movement. If conditions are correct, and no prohibitive messages have been received from DDM, the associated door module then supplies power and ground to its associated window motor to move the window as requested.
