Test D: Power Window Lock-Out Function Inoperative

NOTE: Ensure passenger window lock-out option is on. If window lock-out selection is off, change status using Driver Information Center (DIC) and verify fault is still present. See PASSENGER WINDOW LOCKOUT FEATURE  under PROGRAMMING.
  1. If DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK has been performed, go to next step. If DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK has not been performed, go to DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
  2. Ensure lock-out feature is inoperative and that passenger windows operate properly. If lock-out feature operates properly but a passenger window is inoperative, repair by appropriate symptom. See SYMPTOM INDEX  . If lock-out feature is inoperative, go to next step.
  3. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). See COMPONENT LOCATIONS  . Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using scan tool, observe WINDOW LOCKOUT SW parameter in DRIVER DOOR MODULE, DATA DISPLAY, INPUTS list. Momentarily press window lock-out switch button. If parameter changes momentarily from IDLE to ACTIVE, go to next step. If parameter does not change momentarily from IDLE to ACTIVE, go to step  6 .
  4. Observe lock-out indicator on window lock-out switch button while momentarily pressing lock-out switch button. Indicator should illuminate when lock-out switch is pressed once and then go out when pressed again. If indicator operates as specified, go to next step. If indicator does not operate as specified, go to step  6 .
  5. Check Driver Door Module (DDM) harness connector for poor connections. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair as necessary and go to step  9 . If connections are okay, go to step  7 .
  6. Check Driver Door Switch Assembly (DDSA) harness connector for poor connections. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair as necessary and go to step  9 . If connections are okay, go to step  8 .
  7. Replace DDM. See DOOR MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Go to step  9 .
  8. Replace DDSA. See WINDOW SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Go to next step.
  9. Operate system to verify repair. If condition still exists, go to step  2 . If condition no longer exists, system is okay.
