July 1: So it begins. Don't worry, this is not in the correct legal jurisdiction!

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the negative battery cable to the conduit.
  2. Tape around the cable conduit.
  3. Install the battery cable assembly to the vehicle.
  4. Raise and support the vehicle.
  5. Install the negative battery cable terminal (4) to the transaxle stud.
  6. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  7. Install the negative battery cable nut to the stud.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  9. Install the positive battery cable terminal to the starter.
  10. Install the starter solenoid "BAT" nut.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 13 N.m (115 lb in).

  12. Install the battery cable to the clips (1) on the side rail and lower radiator support.
  13. Install the lower radiator baffle. Refer to Radiator Air Baffle Assemblies and Deflectors .
  14. Lower the vehicle.
  15. Position the negative battery cable ground on top of the fog lamp harness ground.
  16. Install the negative battery cable ground bolt to the radiator support.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

  18. Install the positive battery cable terminal to the generator.
  19. Install the positive battery cable terminal nut.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

  20. Position the positive battery cable terminal boot at the generator.

  22. Install the positive battery cable terminal to the junction block.
  23. Install the positive battery cable to junction block nut.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  24. Install the junction block cover.
  25. Position the positive battery cable to the battery.
  26. Tighten the positive battery cable bolt at the battery.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

  27. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
