Circuit/System Verification
- Ignition ON, observe the scan tool DTC information. Verify no other DTCs are set.
- If any other DTCs are set refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle for further diagnosis.
- Engine idling at operating temperature for at least 30 seconds. Observe the scan tool DTC information. DTC P0053 should not set.
- If DTC P0053 sets, replace the ECM.
- Operate the vehicle within the conditions for running the DTC to verify the DTC does not reset. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that are captured in the Freeze Frame/Failure Records Data List.
