WARNING: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Warning . CAUTION: Refer to Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Caution . CAUTION: Always connect or disconnect the wiring harness connector from the EBCM/EBTCM with the ignition switch in the OFF position. Failure to observe this precaution could result in damage to the EBCM/EBTCM. Preliminary Procedures Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle . Remove the left front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation . Remove the left front wheelhouse liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement . Thoroughly clean the area around the electronic brake control module (EBCM) of all dirt and debris. Disconnect the EBCM electrical connector.
1	Master Cylinder Brake Pipe Fitting (Qty: 2) Procedure Cap the brake pipe fittings to prevent fluid loss and contamination. Hand tighten the brake pipe fittings before tightening to the final torque specification. Tighten: 27 N.m (20 lb ft)
2	Brake Pipe Fitting Procedure Cap the brake pipe fitting to prevent fluid loss and contamination. Hand tighten the brake pipe fitting before tightening to the final torque specification. Tighten: 18 N.m (13 lb ft)
3	Brake Pipe Fitting (Qty: 3) CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution . Procedure Cap the brake pipe fitting to prevent fluid loss and contamination. Hand tighten the brake pipe fitting before tightening to the final torque specification. Tighten: 18 N.m (13 lb ft)
4	Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (BPMV) to Bracket Bolt Tighten: 10 N.m (89 lb in)
5	Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (BPMV) Tip: Separate the BPMV from the EBCM after removing the assembly from the vehicle.
6	Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) Bolt (Qty: 4) Procedure: After the installation is complete, tighten the bolts in a cross pattern beginning with the upper left bolt. Tighten: 3 N.m (27 lb in)
7	Electronic Brake Control Module Procedure Clean the sealing surfaces of the EBCM and the BPMV with denatured alcohol and a clean shop cloth. Bleed the hydraulic brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Pressure) or Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Manual) . Perform the Antilock Brake System Automated Bleed . Perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle .
