Removal Procedure
- Release the parking brake cable. Refer to Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Disabling .
- Disconnect the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection

- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
.
- Remove the left-rear tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
.
- Remove the left-rear wheelhouse panel liner. Refer to Rear Wheelhouse Liner Replacement

- Should the electric parking brake release be inoperative, remove the rubber plug (1) from the rear of the electronic parking brake control module (2), and using a suitably-sized flat-head screwdriver release parking brake cable tension by turning the internal fitting fully clockwise to the stop.
- Disconnect the electronic parking brake control module wiring harness.

- Remove the 2 electronic parking brake control module nuts (1).
- Remove the electronic parking brake control module (2) from the rubber mounting grommet (3), and lay the control module (2) aside.

- Unscrew the parking brake cable connection cover (1) from the electronic parking brake control module (3).
- Unclip the parking brake cable (2) from the electronic parking brake control module (3).
- Remove the electronic parking brake control module (3) from the vehicle.
