Installation Procedure

  1. Assemble the turbocharger. Refer to Turbocharger Assemble .

  2. Install the NEW exhaust manifold gasket (1).
  3. Install the turbocharger with exhaust manifold (2) and exhaust manifold heat shield.
  4. Loosely install the 9 Exhaust manifold bolts (3).

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  5. Tighten the 9 exhaust manifold bolts (1) to 20 N.m (15 lb ft) in the sequence as shown.
  6. Connect the turbocharger wastegate regulator solenoid valve wiring harness plug.

  7. Install the turbocharger brace (2).
  8. Install the 2 turbocharger brace bolts (1) and tighten to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
  9. Install the turbocharger coolant return pipe. Refer to Turbocharger Coolant Return Pipe Replacement .
  10. Install the turbocharger coolant feed pipe. Refer to Turbocharger Coolant Feed Pipe Replacement .
  11. Install the turbocharger oil return pipe. Refer to Turbocharger Oil Return Pipe Replacement .
  12. Install the turbocharger oil feed pipe. Refer to Turbocharger Oil Feed Pipe Replacement .
  13. Install the charge air bypass valve hose to the turbocharger. Refer to Charge Air Bypass Valve Hose Replacement .

  14. Install the positive crankcase ventilation vacuum hose (4) to the turbocharger (2).
  15. Install the clamp (3) - turbocharger side.

  16. Install the charge air cooler inlet hose (3) to the turbocharger (1).
  17. Clip in the charge air cooler inlet hose retainer clamp (2).
  18. Install the warm up three-way catalytic converter. Refer to Warm Up Three-Way Catalytic Converter Replacement .
  19. Install the exhaust front pipe. Refer to Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement .
  20. Install the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement .
  21. Install the engine sight shield. Refer to Engine Sight Shield Replacement .
