Removal Procedure
- Identify how to disable high voltage.
- Identify how to test for the presence of high voltage.
- Identify condition under which high voltage is always present and personal protection equipment (PPE) and proper procedures must be followed.
- Safety glasses with appropriate side shields when within 15 meters (50 feet) of the vehicle, either indoors or outdoors.
- Certified and up-to-date Class "0" Insulation gloves rated at 1000 V with leather protectors.
- Visually and functionally inspect the gloves before use.
- Wear the Insulation gloves with leather protectors at all times when working with the high voltage battery assembly, whether the system is energized or not.
- Disable the high voltage system. High Voltage Disabling
- Raise and support the vehicle.
Generator Control Module Cable Cover Bolt (1) @ Starter Generator (3) - Remove [2x]
- Generator Control Module Cable Cover Bolt (2) - Remove
Generator Control Module 3-Phase Cable Cover (1) - Remove
- Terminal Insulator (2) - Remove
- NOTE:
If necessary, use DT-48285 Valve Body Torx Plus Socket or equivalent to remove the Torx Plus low profile fasteners.
Generator Control Module 3-Phase Cable Bolt (1) - Remove [3x]
- Generator Control Module 3-Phase Cable Cover Seal (2) - Inspect and replace as necessary.
Generator Control Module Cable Housing Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]
- Generator Control Module 3-Phase Cable (2) - Remove
Retainer Clip (1) @ Heater Coolant Pump Hose (2) - Disengage
- Retainer (4) @ Automatic Transmission Range Selector Actuator Bracket (3) - Disengage
- Lower the vehicle.
Drive Motor Power Inverter Module Shield (2) - Remove - Drive Motor Power Inverter Module Shield Replacement
Retainer (2) - Disengage [2x]
- High Voltage Electrical Connector (1) - Disconnect
Generator Control Module 3-Phase Cable (1) - Remove
Always perform the High Voltage Disabling procedure prior to servicing any High Voltage component or connection. Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and proper procedures must be followed.
