1977-78 Models

  1. Disconnect and plug distributor vacuum advance hose, EGR valve hose, and automatic level control hose (if equipped). Connect timing light or meter. Place transmission in "P" and start engine.
  2. On carbureted models, place cam follower on second step of fast idle cam and adjust fast idle speed screw to obtain specified ignition timing RPM. Adjust timing to specified setting.
  3. On fuel injected models, manually adjust throttle linkage to obtain specified ignition timing RPM. Adjust timing to specified setting. Recheck engine RPM and ignition timing.
