Note positions of each PROM before removal. Replacement PROM's must be installed in same position as original PROM's. Small reference boss (dimple) on PROM carrier must align with boss (dimple) on PROM socket. Grasp clear PROM between thumb and forefinger. Gently rock PROM back and forth while applying upward force to remove PROM and carrier. Repeat procedure for green PROM.
NOTE:
PROM's are not interchangeable. PROM's designed for first generation ECM's cannot be installed in second generation ECM's and second generation PROM's cannot be installed in first generation ECM's. Ensure PROM part numbers correspond to those of PROM's originally installed in ECM.
