CAM Position Sensor

The cam position sensor is located on distributor shaft and provides one pulse per rotation of distributor. ECM uses cam sensor signal to know location of camshaft for proper fuel distribution. The CAM sensor is a Hall Effect type sensor which signals ECM that cylinder number one is next to be fueled. The ECM will sequence fuel delivery once number one cylinder intake stroke is determined.
