Note On Intermittents

Check for loose or poor connection of the power circuit, ground circuit and the data circuits to the LSP. For LIGHTING SYSTEM CHECK , see SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE.

NOTE: The following numbered steps refer to circled numbers on diagnostic chart. See Fig 1. For circuit identification, see Fig 2.
  1. If you were not directed here from Lighting Chart A-1, a wrong diagnosis could result if not performed first. For LIGHTING SYSTEM CHECK , see SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE.
  2. If code B441 is also set, then a loss of voltage on circuit No. 840 is the cause of the fault.
  3. Checks for voltage on circuit No. 840. Circuit No. 840 is the voltage supply circuit for the LSP.
  4. Checks the date line for proper connection to the LSP.
NOTE: When all diagnosis and repairs are completed, clear codes and verify operation.
