Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair

Throttle Position Sensor:






REMOVE
^ Electrical connector.
^ Remove TPS attaching screws and retainers.
^ Throttle Position Sensor (TPS).

CAUTION: The TPS is an electrical component and must not be soaked in any liquid cleaner or solvent, as damage may result.

INSTALL
^ With throttle valve in the closed position, install throttle position sensor on throttle body assembly, making sure TPS lever lines up with the TPS drive letter on the throttle shaft.
^ Retainers and two TPS screws. [1]
^ Electrical connector.

[1] DO NOT tighten screws until TPS is adjusted.

Adjust
^ If TPS requires adjustment refer to Adjustments. Adjustments

Tighten
^ Attaching screw to 2.0 Nm (18 lb in)
