Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair

Removal

1. Remove air cleaner, then disconnect sensor electrical connector.
2. Remove two sensor attaching screws and the sensor. Discard screws. It may be necessary to remove sensor actuator lever-to-throttle shaft screw.
Installation
1. Install sensor with throttle valve in normal closed position. Ensure sensor pickup lever is located above tang on throttle actuator lever.
2. Install retainers and two new attaching screws and lockwashers, using a suitable locking compound on screw threads.
3. Adjust sensor as previously described, then tighten attaching screws.
