Notes On Intermittents

Remove the crank fuse and use an ohmmeter to check continuity on circuit No. 806 from the crank fuse to ECM pin C9. Check for intermittent opens while manipulating wiring. Check the engine dash connector for opens and pin C5 for good contact.

If condition "EO18" does not set immediately after cranking, check for plug wires arcing, loose engine grounds or other sources of Electromagnetic Interference (EMI). Large transient voltage surges can erase the crank signal from ECM's memory and cause code "EO18" to set while driving.
