ECM "SNAPSHOT" Test
Selection of the "ECM SNAPSHOT?" test type will allow one to recall the snapshot recorded automatically at the time of the last ECM malfunction code or one may trigger the recording of a snapshot upon demand. Selecting "ECM SNAPSHOT?" (by pushing the "HI" button) will result in the display of either "EOXX SNAPSHOT?" (where "0XX" is the 3 digit diagnostic code that recorded the snapshot) or "TAKE ECM SNAPSHOT?" if no ECM codes have been set.
Selecting "EOXX SNAPSHOT?" (by pushing "HI" button) will result in the test type "EOXX DATA?" being displayed and selecting the test type "TAKE ECM SNAPSHOT?" will result in the message "SNAPSHOT TAKEN" followed by the test type "ECM SNAP DATA?". While selecting a snapshot test type, any of the following actions may be taken to control the display:
- Depressing the "OFF" button on the ECC panel will stop the test type selection process and return the display to the next available system selection.
- Depressing the "LO" button will display the next available snapshot test type. This allows the display to be stepped through all available choices. This list of snapshot test types can be repeated following the display of the last choice.
- Depressing the "HI" button with "EOXX DATA?", "EOXX INPUTS?", "ECM SNAP DATA?" or "ECM SNAP INPUTS?" displayed will select that test type. At this point the display is controlled as it would be for non-snapshot data and inputs displays, however, all values and status information represent memorized vehicle conditions.
- Depressing the "HI" button with "TAKE ECM SNAPSHOT" displayed will display the "SNAPSHOT TAKEN" message to indicate that new information has been stored in memory. Access to this information is obtained the same as previously described.
