Traction Control Plunger Assembly: Notes
The traction control plunger contains 2 solenoid valves which control hydraulic brake pressure to the front wheels when the EBCM detects that traction control is required to prevent the front wheels from slipping. From the hydraulic unit, a high pressure line and each front wheel hydraulic line are connected to the plunger unit. A low pressure fluid return line connects the plunger to the hydraulic unit reservoir. Two additional hydraulic lines connect from the plunger unit to each front wheel brake caliper.
The traction control plunger assembly is attached to a bracket and is located below and outboard of the hydraulic unit. The bracket is attached to the outboard side of the hydraulic unit mounting bracket. The plunger unit connector is located near the firewall and is connected to the ABS/TCS harness.
