BCM Code B333: Loss Of Sir (DERM) Data: Notes

Code B333 will set if the ignition is turned on and the BCM is unable to exchange data with the DERM. If any other communication codes are set along with B333, see MULTIPLE INTERMITTENT CODES. If Code B333 is the only communication code stored, check for one of the following faults:

• Open circuit between BCM and DERM and open circuit between IPC and DERM.
• Defective DERM (no diagnostic information from DERM will be displayed.)

Test Number 1)  DERM should cycle the telltale 7-9 times with ignition on. If not, check for defective power circuit, ground circuit, or internal DERM failure.

Test Number 2)  If multiple codes are present, refer to MULTIPLE INTERMITTENT CODES.

Test Number 3)  Voltage should fluctuate. If not, check for open in circuit No. 800 between DERM and BCM.
