ECM Code EO20: Fuel Pump Fuse Blown: Notes

NOTE: Test numbers refer to test numbers on diagnostic chart.

Test Number 1) With key on, light should be off, or light for 2 seconds as relay powers up fuel pump.

Test Number 2) If a short circuit is present, it is in circuit No. 120, in fuel pump, or in ECM. Normal circuit resistance is 3-4 ohms.

Test Number 3) If the light is on steadily, non-switched portion of fuel pump circuit is shorted.

Test Number 4) This checks for ECM shorting circuit No. 120 to ground.

Test Number 5) This checks for short circuit in fuel tank.

Test Number 6) This checks fuel pump for short circuits. Check harness connector.

Test Number 7) This checks circuit No. 120 for a short to ground.

Test Number 8) Check for grounded fuel pump test point, connection at relay center, and oil pressure switch. Also check harness for short to ground.
