Mem-Cal Unit
NOTE:
The MEM-CAL is very specific and must be used for the right car. It is very important to check the latest parts book and Serviceman Bulletin information for the correct part number when replacing the MEM-CAL. Parameter ED99 can be used to verify the proper PROM I.D..
For installation and removal of the MEM-CAL, see REMOVAL, OVERHAUL & INSTALLATION article.
To do a functional check of the MEM-CAL use the following procedure:
- Turn ignition on.
- Enter on-board diagnostics. Code EO52 should appear. If the diagnostic message "No ECM Data" appears on the display, the MEM-CAL is not fully seated or is defective.
- If it is not fully seated, press firmly on the ends of the MEM-CAL and make sure the retaining clips have locked.
