BCM Status Lights Display
- OFF Status Indicator Light - The OFF indicator is illuminated whenever the BCM is commanding the RECIRC mode valve to the recirculation position. This indicator light is off when the BCM is commanding use of outside air. The light does not indicate that the valve has responded to the BCM's command. Actual operation depends on the integrity of the mode valve system.
- AUTO Indicator Light - This indicator illuminates whenever the BCM is requesting the PCM to engage the A/C compressor clutch. This indicator light is not an indication of whether or not the A/C clutch is actually enabled or disabled by the PCM. Actual operation depends on the PCM and the integrity of the compressor clutch system.
- ECON Indicator Light - This indicator illuminates whenever the BCM senses the low refrigerant pressure switch is open. The light should remain off if the refrigerant system is fully charged and being properly controlled. If however ambient temperature drops below approximately -5°F (-21°C), the light will come on due to the pressure temperature relationship of refrigerant R-12.
- LO Status Indicator - This indicator is illuminated whenever BCM is commanding the upper mode valve to divert air flow to A/C outlets. This occurs in the BI-LEVEL or normal purge modes. The indicator light will be off when the ECC system is in the heater intermediate, defrost or cold purge modes.
- HI Status Indicator - This indicator is illuminated whenever the BCM is commanding the LOWER mode valve to divert air flow up, away from the heater outlet. This indicator light will be off when the ECC system is in the heater BI-LEVEL, intermediate or normal purge mode.
