Engine Control Module

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1989 Cadillac Allante, 1988 Cadillac Allante, and 1987 Cadillac Allante. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Cruise control operation is one of the many functions which the ECM controls. The ECM receives input signals from the cruise control engagement switches, the instrument panel switch, the brake release switch, servo position sensor and the vehicle speed sensor. The ECM processes these cruise control inputs together with the DFI engine control information, and transmits command signals to the vacuum and vent solenoid valves to provide vacuum to the servo to control vehicle speed.
