VES Input Test
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect VES control module connector. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage at Pink/White wire terminal of VES control module connector.
- If battery voltage is not present, check C/C fuse in engine compartment fuse block. If fuse is okay, repair open or short to ground in Pink/White wire between C/C fuse and VES control module.
- If battery voltage is present, turn ignition off. Measure resistance between ground and Black wire terminal of VES control module connector. If 5 or more ohms resistance is measured, repair open in Black wire between VES control module and ground.
- If less than 5 ohms resistance is measured, raise and support rear of vehicle with wheel off ground. Start engine. Place transmission in Drive. Measure voltage between Pink/White and Yellow/Black wire terminals of VES control module connector.
- If voltage varies between 7 and 12 volts, go to next step. If voltage does not vary between 7 and 12 volts, check for open or short to ground in Yellow/Black wire circuit between VES control module and VSS buffer. If circuit is okay, replace VSS buffer.
- Check for poor connection at VES control module connector. If connection is okay, replace VES control module.
