Remote Accessory Control (RAC) Module Input/Output Test
- Disconnect RAC module Black 8-pin connector. To check key lock input, hold left or right front door lock cylinder switch in UNLOCK position. Using an ohmmeter, ensure continuity is present between module connector terminal "A" (Light Green wire) and ground. With door lock cylinder switch in any other position, no continuity should be present.
- If continuity checks are not as indicated, check Light Green wire for an open or short circuit to ground. Check suspect door lock cylinder switch for correct terminal contact. If wiring and connectors are okay, replace suspect door lock cylinder switch.
- To check tamper switch input, activate trunk lid tamper input. Connect an ohmmeter between module connector terminal "B" (Light Blue wire) and ground. Continuity should be present. With trunk lid tamper input not activated, no continuity should be present.
- If continuity checks are not as indicated, check Light Blue wire for an open or short circuit to ground. Check tamper switch connector. If Light Blue wire and tamper switch connector are okay, replace tamper switch.
- Ensure battery voltage is present between connector terminal "H" (Black wire) and ground. If battery voltage is not present, check Black wire for an open circuit.
- Ensure battery voltage is present between connector terminal "G" (Black/White wire) and ground. If battery voltage is not present, check Black/White wire for an open or short circuit to ground and lamp control module connector terminal B1 (Black/White wire) for good terminal contact. If wiring and connector are okay, replace lamp control module. If all testing is correct, replace RAC module.
