Driver's Door Lock Or Unlock Function Inoperative, Passenger

Door Locks Operate Normally

1) If driver's door lock or unlock function operates normally using left or right front door lock switches, program a known good transmitter. If lock and unlock functions still do not operate by remote control, replace Remote Control Door Lock Receiver/Theft Deterrent Module (RCDLR/TDM). If driver's door lock or unlock function does not operate using left or right front door lock switches, go to next step.

2) Backprobe using test light connected between RCDLR/TDM connector terminal C10 (White wire) and ground. Press and hold front door lock switch in unlock position. If test light does not light, repair open circuit in White wire.

3) If test light lights, backprobe RCDLR/TDM connector between terminal C2 (Tan wire) and ground. If test light lights, check for short to voltage at Tan wire. If Tan wire is okay, replace RCDLR/TDM.

4) If test light does not light, backprobe RCDLR/TDM connector with test light connected between terminal C2 (Tan wire) and ground. Press and hold front door lock switch in unlock position. If test light does not light, check for short to ground in Tan wire. If Tan wire is okay, replace RCDLR/TDM.

5) If test light lights, backprobe RCDLR/TCM connector with test light connected between terminals D1 (Orange wire) and C2 (Tan wire). If test light does not light, check for poor connection at RCDLR/TDM connector. If connection is okay, program a known good transmitter. If system is still inoperative, replace RCDLR/TDM.

6) If test light lights, check for open circuit in Gray or Tan wires at driver's door lock actuator, or poor connection at driver's door lock actuator. If wiring and connection are okay, replace driver's door lock actuator.
