Code P052, Pcm Keep Alive Memory Reset: Notes
This code test monitors PCM's keep alive memory for a loss or unintended change of data, causing Code P052 to set. Code P052 indicates that the long term memory in PCM has been reset. This will be the case whenever battery power is removed from PCM (disconnecting battery cables, disconnecting PCM connector, etc.) Clear code from memory after restoring PCM's power supply.
If Code P052 is seen accompanied by complaint of engine quit, stumble, MIL's flashing or other stored codes, check for an intermittent loss of power (circuit No. 840) or ground (circuit No. 451) to PCM. Manipulate wiring and connections with engine running, remove and reinstall PCM connectors 1C/1D, 2A/2B and 3E/3F, ensure connectors are properly latched.
