DTC PZ1973, High Power Control Fault: Testing

  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect PZM connector. Using DVOM, measure voltage between PZM connector terminal D1 and ground. If voltage is one volt or less, replace PZM. If voltage is greater than one volt, go to next step.
  2. Remove controlled power relay. Using DVOM, measure voltage between controlled power relay connector terminal B7 and ground. If voltage is one volt or less, replace PZM. If voltage is greater than one volt, repair short to battery in high power control output circuit between controlled power relay and PZM.
