DTC PZ2016, Loss Of Serial Communications - Pcm: Testing

  1. Ensure PCM is operating properly. If PCM is not operating properly, diagnose and repair as necessary. See TESTS W/CODES article. If PCM is okay, turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect C205 23-pin connector located behind right side of dash, near kick panel. Disconnect PCM connector C1. Using DVOM, measure resistance between PCM connector C1, terminal No. 59 and C205 connector, terminal "C". If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in circuit between PCM and C205 connector.
  2. Disconnect HVAC programmer connector. Using DVOM, measure resistance between HVAC programmer connector terminal D4 and C205 connector, terminal "C" If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, replace PCM. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, repair open in circuit between C205 connector and splice S324 located under right front seat, on right rail.
