DTC PZ2471, Interior Lights Fault: Testing
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Connect scan tool and select BCM TEST. Select LIGHTS, then select INTERIOR LIGHTS. Using scan tool, turn interior lights on. If interior lights illuminate, go to step 4). If interior lights do not illuminate, go to next step.
- Disconnect PZM connector. Remove courtesy lights relay. Using DVOM, measure voltage between courtesy lights relay connector terminal No. 85 and ground. If voltage is greater than one volt, repair short to battery in interior lights circuit between courtesy lights relay and PZM. If voltage is one volt or less, go to next step.
- Using DVOM, measure resistance between courtesy lights relay connector terminal No. 86 and 10-amp INT LPS fuse located in engine compartment fuse/relay block. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in fuse circuit between courtesy lights relay and 10-amp INT LPS fuse. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace PZM.
- Disconnect PZM connector. Remove courtesy lights relay. Using DVOM, measure resistance between courtesy lights relay connector terminal No. 85 and ground. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, repair short to ground in courtesy lights circuit between courtesy lights relay and PZM. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, go to next step.
- Install courtesy lights relay. Using DVOM, measure resistance between PZM connector terminal C13 and ground. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace courtesy lights relay. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, replace PZM.
