DTC 21, Rap Enable Circuit (CKT Open Or Shorted To Ground): Notes

Retained Accessory Power (RAP) is enabled when ignition switch is turned to RUN position. RAP will continue operation of power windows, sun roof, trunk release, radio and windshield wipers for up to 10 minutes after ignition is turned off or will discontinue operation immediately if any door is opened. RAP is enabled when CCM grounds RAP relays control circuit.

DTC 21 will set when RAP relays control circuit is in a low state for more than 2 seconds while CCM is not enabling the circuit. This occurs when ignition is off and a CCM wake-up signal becomes active, or if a door is opened within 10 minutes after ignition was turned off.

When DTC 21 is set and RAP relays control circuit is shorted to ground, RAP functions will have battery voltage at all times. When DTC 21 is set and RAP relays control circuit is open, RAP functions will be off as soon as ignition is turned off. DTC 21 will clear if fault goes away for 2 or more seconds.
