DTC 26, VES Output Circuit (CKT Open Or Shorted To Ground): Testing
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect CCM connector C2. Using DVOM, measure resistance between CCM connector C2 terminals C13 and C14. If resistance is 7-15 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is less than 7 ohms, go to step 4). If resistance is greater than 15 ohms, go to step 5).
- Using DVOM, measure resistance between CCM connector C2 terminal C13 and ground. Also, measure resistance between CCM connector terminal C14 and ground. If continuity is present for either measurement, go to next step. If continuity is not present for either measurement, reconnect CCM connector C2. Clear DTCs and check if DTC resets. If DTC resets, replace CCM.
- Disconnect power steering pump/EVO actuator connector. Using DVOM, measure resistance between CCM connector C2 terminal C13 and ground. Also, measure resistance between CCM connector terminal C14 and ground. If continuity is present for either measurement, repair short to ground in VES enable circuit or VES (PWM) output circuit. If continuity is not present for either measurement, replace power steering pump/EVO actuator.
- Disconnect power steering pump/EVO actuator connector. Using DVOM, measure resistance between CCM connector C2 terminals C13 and C14. If continuity is present, repair short to ground in VES enable circuit or VES (PWM) output circuit. If continuity is not present, replace power steering pump/EVO actuator.
- Disconnect power steering pump/EVO actuator connector. Using DVOM, measure resistance between power steering pump/EVO actuator connector terminals. If resistance is less than 15 ohms, repair short to ground in VES enable circuit or VES (PWM) output circuit. If resistance is greater than 15 ohms, replace power steering pump/EVO actuator.
