DTC 30, Pass Key Fault Indicator Circuit (Circuit Shorted To Battery): Testing

  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect C200 (body harness-to-instrument panel harness) 56-pin harness connector located above accelerator pedal. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using DVOM, measure voltage between C200 harness connector terminal G7 (CCM side of harness) and ground. If battery voltage is not present, go to step 4). If battery voltage is present, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect CCM connector C1. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using DVOM, measure voltage between CCM connector C1 terminal A6 and ground. If battery is present, repair short to battery in PASS KEY FAULT enable circuit between CCM and C200 harness connector. If battery voltage is not present, go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Check for poor connections at CCM connector. If connections are okay, reconnect CCM connector and all other components. Clear DTCs and check if DTC resets. If DTC resets, replace CCM. If DTC does not reset, fault may be caused by crossed terminals at CCM connector C1.
  4. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Remove instrument cluster. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using DVOM, measure voltage between C200 harness connector terminal G7 (instrument panel side of harness) and ground. If battery voltage is present, repair short to battery in PASS KEY FAULT enable circuit between instrument panel and C200 harness connector. If battery voltage is not present, check for crossed connections at instrument cluster. If connections are okay, repair short to battery in instrument cluster or replace instrument cluster.
