Knock Sensor Module Replacement

Removal Procedure
1. Remove the PCM from the vehicle. Refer to Powertrain Control Module / Service and Repair.

Knock Sensor Module (Inside PCM):





2. Remove the two Knock Sensor (KS) Module cover screws.

Knock Sensor Removal/Installation:





3. Grasp the KS Module tabs with your thumb and finger.

4. Squeeze the tabs together.

5. Pull the KS Module straight up.

Installation Procedure
1. Remove the two KS Module cover screws and remove cover.

2. Hold the KS Module with your thumb and finger.

3. Insert the KS Module straight down into the PCM through the access opening.

4. Press the KS Module firmly into the PCM connector.

Important: Ensure there is a good seal between access cover and the PCM.

5. Place the KS Module cover on the PCM.

6. Install the two mounting screws.

7. Install the PCM.
