Description & Operation: Notes
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1998 Cadillac DeVille. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
For additional information about power seats, see SEATS - POWER
article. For additional information about power mirrors, see MIRRORS - POWER
article.
The memory seat and mirror system allows the driver's seat to be set in 4 preset positions: MEMORY 1, MEMORY 2, EXIT 1 and EXIT 2. The Memory Seat Module (MSM) controls movement of 3 seat position motors, 2 lumbar support motors and one recline motor. The Memory Mirror Module (MMM) controls movement of 2 left mirror motors and 2 right mirror motors. All motors have a position sensor, and work independently of each other.
MMM receives manual seat operation inputs from left seat switch. MMM then sends a message over the class 2 serial data line to MSM. MSM then supplies voltage to appropriate seat motors.
