Diagnostic Procedures

  1. Perform BCM diagnostic system check. See BCM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  . After performing system check, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition on. Clear DTCs using scan tool. Turn ignition off. Turn ignition on and recheck for DTCs. If DTC B1656 resets, go to next step. If DTC B1656 does not reset, system is okay.
  3. Replace module responsible for setting this DTC. After replacing affected module, go to next step.
  4. Turn ignition off. Reconnect components or connectors that were removed. Turn ignition on. Clear DTCs. After clearing DTCs, perform BCM diagnostic system check. See BCM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
