DTC B0532, Fuel Level Sender Short To Ground: Notes
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1997 Cadillac Seville, 1997 Cadillac Eldorado, and 1997 Cadillac DeVille. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
PZM monitors fuel level, and transmits this information over Class 2 serial data line to Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC). When ignition switch is in RUN position, PZM continually measures voltage at 24-pin connector C1 terminal A1 (Purple wire) and determines position of sender by calculating percentage of IGN-1 present at terminal.
DTC B0532 will set if percentage of IGN-1 voltage is less than an acceptable level for at least 2 seconds. PZM will send a Class 2 message to PCM that percentage of IGN-1 is too low. DTC B0532 will clear if percentage of IGN-1 voltage meets or exceeds an acceptable level for at least one cycle.
