Diagnostic Procedures

  1. Perform BCM diagnostic system check. See BCM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  . After performing system check, go to next step.
  2. Clear DTCs. Turn ignition off. Turn ignition on for 60 seconds. Recheck for DTCs. If DTC B0532 is still present, go to next step. If DTC B0532 is not present, system is okay.
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Rear Integration Module (RIM) harness connector C1. Using DVOM, check resistance across harness RIM harness connector C1 terminals A7 (Purple wire) and B3 (Black wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If resistance is 40-250 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 40-250 ohms, go to step 5).
  4. Check RIM harness connector for damage. Repair as necessary. If harness connector is okay, replace RIM.
  5. Disconnect fuel level sensor 2-pin harness connector. Using a fused jumper wire, jumper connector terminals. Check resistance between RIM harness connector terminals A7 (Purple wire) and B3 (Black wire). If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to step 7). If resistance is not 5 ohms or less, go to next step.
  6. Repair open in Purple or Black wire. After repairs, go to step 8).
  7. Remove jumper wire. Replace fuel level sensor. After replacing sensor, go to next step.
  8. Reconnect all components or connectors. Clear DTCs. After clearing DTCs, perform BCM diagnostic system check. See BCM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  .
