Circuit Description
The ignition switch is in RUN position, The Rear Integration Module (RIM) reads fuel level directly across terminals A7 (Purple wire) and B3 (Black wire) on RIM harness connector C1. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Fuel level sensor resistance is 40 ohms (EMPTY) or 250 ohms (FULL). RIM transfers fuel data to Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) through a Class-II serial data line every .5 liter change in fuel level. This data is used to determine proper fuel gauge pointer position.
Conditions for setting DTC:
- DTC B0530 will set only if B1327 or B1328 is not current in RIM memory.
- DTC will set if fuel sensor feedback does not fluctuate at least 5 ohms during the last 50 miles without resetting at power off conditions. RIM resets mileage only after detecting a 5 ohm resistance change.
