Both Power Mirrors Inoperative
NOTE:
This procedure applies to vehicles equipped with memory systems only.
- If outside mirrors system check was performed, go to next step. If outside mirrors system check was not performed, go to OUTSIDE MIRROR SYSTEM CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
- Check for open or short to ground in Orange wire between outside mirror switch, Memory Mirror Module (MMM) and MIRROR fuse (10-amp) located in under hood fuse block. If circuit is okay, go to step 4 . If faulty circuit is found, go to next step.
- Repair open in Orange wire between outside mirror switch, MMM, MIRROR fuse and splice S505. See Fig 1 . After repairs, go to OUTSIDE MIRROR SYSTEM CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
- Check for open in Black wire between MMM and ground G205 located behind kick panel on passenger's side. If circuit is okay, go to step 6 . If faulty circuit is found, go to next step.
- Repair open in Black wire between MMM and ground. After repairs, go to OUTSIDE MIRROR SYSTEM CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
- Check for open in Black wire between outside mirror switch and ground G204 located behind kick panel on driver's side. If circuit is okay, go to step 8 . If faulty circuit is found, go to next step.
- Repair open in Black wire between outside mirror switch and ground. After repairs, go to OUTSIDE MIRROR SYSTEM CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
- Check for poor connections at outside power mirror switch. If poor connections are found and repaired, go to OUTSIDE MIRROR SYSTEM CHECK under TROUBLE SHOOTING. If connections are okay, check for faulty switch. If switch is faulty, go to next step. If switch is okay, go to step 10 .
- Replace outside mirror switch. See POWER MIRRORS - DEVILLE & ELDORADO article.
- Replace MMM. See MEMORY MIRROR MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
