This feature activates the horn several times until turned off by pressing the Red button again. The transmitters are supplied in pairs with each vehicle. The transmitters are hand-held and attached to a key ring. The transmitter has four buttons to control the operation of the system. See Fig 1 . Whenever a button on the transmitter is pressed, the transmitter sends a coded Ultra-High Frequency (UHF) radio signal to the receiver.
The transmitter must be within approximately 30 feet (9 meters) of the vehicle for the receiver to detect the coded signal. The keyless entry system has no effect on the normal operation of the power door locks. The keyless entry system has no effect on the endgate or the liftgate window release. Each receiver is capable of recognizing four transmitters. Replacement transmitters may be obtained, but must be matched to the specific receiver. The transmitter is powered by a 3-volt battery and is water resistant. The system will turn on the interior lamps for about 40 seconds, or until the ignition is turned to the RUN position, when the doors are unlocked. The interior lamps will go off when the doors are locked.
